(Insert Len Bias/17 Again Joke Here...too soon?)

Well, when the March numbers finally rolled in, yours-truly moved on, leaving ol’ Kevin to have to wait till May for his second shot at eternity. Let’s do a quick, quick recap of March before diving into April – check out the original post for draft details. If you despise links – here’s the dime store version: four picks each, opening weekend numbers count only, total money made wins. http://billfrat.com/index.php/movies/hollywood/The-March-Fantasy-Draft.html.

The first two picks ended up a near wash, with Monsters vs. Aliens narrowly edging The Watchmen. After that, the picks went haywire. Kev took the underperforming I, Love You Man third – a choice we all pretty much thought was spot on at the time. Knowing, the movie that earned me the W, fell into my lap in the last round. And, The Haunting in Connecticut, a flick that never got selected, ended up making more money than all but four picks. Mistakes were made, luck played a role, and Cena failed to deliver, but, in this not-so-humble author’s opinion, the better man ended up winning. The Frat survives.

Now, on to round two. (Editor’s Note – The picks were made March 29th) Though March had its fair share of surprises, April looks to be chalk full of them. Outside of the Walker / Diesel bro fest, every other movie is impossible to call. Couple important questions for the month: Is anybody interested in Dragon Ball Z, will State of Play be promoted, can Beyonce earn bank, are we overestimating / underestimating  Miley Cyrus or Zac Efron, will every bro see Crank 2 twice in a weekend, and is anyone else looking forward to Fighting? Yea, my hands up. (Editor’s Note – These predictions were pretty much spot on)

This month’s competitor - invaluable commenter and ultra-bro Bra-Bin. Will he be able to resist Crank? Let’s start the draft: coin flip says… I’m up first again.

My Picks:

1: Frat: Fast and Furious – Much like The Watchman in March, this is a no-brainer. Muscle Race 4 is the clear cut number one.

4: Frat: Soloist – This is tricky because Paramount has yet to promote it and the movie was already pulled from Oscar contention in November. Still think reviews will be positive and, with three weeks of Dragonballs and Disney leading up to it, movie goers should be starved for quality.

5: Frat: Observe and Report – Rogan delivers. I don’t get it. But Rogan delivers.

8: State of Play: You rewind five years and tell me Crow and Affleck are in a movie together – it’s a sure thing first pick. My, have the mighty fallen. Also, here are some alternate titles to State of Play that Universal was considering: Base of Action. Status of Contact. Form of Follow. Shape of Chase. Absent Reporter. Fart News.

BraBins Picks:

Hannah Montana, 17 Again, Crank, Dragonball Evolution

More Alternate Titles for State of Play:

1) Concept of Now
2) Form of Row
3) Order of Grand
and finally, you guessed it...Frank Stallone

Rogan , April 29, 2009
Seth Rogen. Gregory Rogan. Big difference.

And there are two Os in goose boys. Two Os.

Brabin , May 08, 2009
Brabin will rebound... maybe not in May, but I will certainly win my matchup against that seth rogan character. Guy's a chump. Did they even screen Crank 2 wherever he lives? Ha
